Commonwealth Club, San Francisco

The Bay Area is fortunate to have a vibrant community of organizations working on food education, physical activity, and health disparities, as well as forward thinking politicians, physicians and educators who work hands on with this issue every day.

This conference will highlight local heroes and organizations working with children and adolescents all over the Bay Area to prevent and reverse childhood obesity. By bringing together a multi disciplinary panel we hope to shed light on how complex the issue is, and to discuss the many avenues that exist to contribute and collaborate.

This conference will bring together speakers who are active and knowledgeable professionals in the fields of policy, health and wellness, education and sustainable business. We hope to have an audience that is equally interested and committed to the issue as our speakers, and the event will provide all involved with the opportunity to identify solutions to this highly critical issue.

"Childhood Obesity Bay Area: Boots on the Ground" conference will include keynote addresses from David Kessler, M.D., and Alan Greene, M.D., 2 speaker panels, focused break out sessions, a healthy lunch from Whole Foods Market, a slam poetry performance, and a reception with food from Bi-Rite Market, and wine from Topel Winery.
