New date: Wednesday, June 12th

There has been a lot of buzz lately about the benefits (and making) of fermented foods. Join us for our next Convivial Table Dinner on Wednesday, June 12th, a potluck feast celebrating fermentation! From beer to cheese to yoghurt, to miso, kombucha, kimchi and beyond … our hosts Leigh Rodwick and her Aunt Alison May invite us to bring and share a dish that uses a fermented food. Alison May will be baking her signature baguettes and opening her beautiful home in Noe Valley for us to enjoy inside and (hopefully!) on the deck. We will start this dinner on the early side to catch some nice weather (if applicable) but feel free to join later, as this will not be a sit-down event. Mingle with other Slow Food members and home chefs, exchange ideas (and starters?) for fermenting or just enjoy a nice meal with us.

To clarify:
You do not have to do any fermentation yourself, just use a fermented ingredient in your recipe or opt to bring a well fermented beverage. You are of course invited to show off your own fermented creations and encouraged to discuss all things fermentation that evening.

For more information about fermentation, see NPR’s review of the new book “The Art of Fermentation” by Sandor Katz.

Get a donation ticket to reserve your spot and food or beverage category of choice. Then get ready to feast.

The address of the location will be announced to ticket holders a week before the event.
