Urban Kitchen SF invites you to take a tour of Hodo Soy Beanery in Oakland, CA where they produce artisanal tofu, yuba noodles, and soymilk plus delicious prepared foods. You'll learn how to make your own homemade tofu using freshly made soymilk while tasting the delicious offerings of the Beanery. Participants leave with a SoyaJoy tofu kit, which includes a handcrafted wooden tofu box and cotton pressing cloth.

Please join Marin-Petaluma Slow Food Convivia and James Beard award-winning author Deborah Krasner, author of the first ever grass-fed meat cookbook, Good Meat for a discussion and meat-cooking demo.
Local, grass-fed and sustainably raised rabbit and pork will be served and generously provided by Devil's Gulch Ranch and the rest of the meal will be pot luck. Local wineries Kendric Vineyard, Moon Hill Vineyard, and Point Reyes Vineyard will be pouring tastes as well. Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, Cowgirl Creamery and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company will also be participating in the event.
Guests with the first letter of their last name A to M bring an appetizer or salad and from N to Z bring a dessert. Everyone should bring their own beverage and set up (i.e. plates, utensils, napkins, etc).
This will be a special day for Slow Food members to learn about the relationship between open-space and ag land, and supporting local meat producers - as well as an inexpensive semi-pot-luck celebration.

On September 21st Urban Kitchen SF invites you to a very special workshop. Awaken your senses as Joshua Muscat, an expert herbalist in his 16th year of clinical practice at the San Francisco Botanical Medicine Clinic, will lead you into the healthful world of herbal medicine. In this workshop, you'll learn how to make dry and fresh plant tinctures, which are used to heal all types of ailments, from allergies and insomnia to digestive issues and trauma injuries. Joshua will teach each participant how to make the herbal remedies, which you'll get to take home along with recipes and suggestions for other herbs to try.
NOTE: This class requires that each participant bring a chopping knife (for cutting herbs). If you are unable to bring a knife, please email registration@urbankitchensf.org.

The Last Crop tells a personal journey of a family caught in the middle of a delicate interplay between urban and agricultural space in California's Central Valley. The film follows Annie and Jeff Main, owners of a small organic farm, who like many farming families confront an uncertain future, as development impinges on rural areas and their children choose careers off the farm. What sets the Main's story apart is their resolve to create an alternative for their farm's succession that will ensure its productivity for generations to come.

CUESA invites you to their 8th Annual Sunday Supper. Enjoy a cocktail reception and/or a four-Course Supper, Served Family Style in the Ferry Building Grand Hall. The menu includes Whole-Beast table-side Carving, a live auction and Farmer Presentation. Vegetarian meals available upon advanced request.
